U.S. scrap export price to Taiwan likely to drop

It is expected that U.S. 80:20 container scrap export price to Taiwan will decline in this week because of dropping rebar and scrap collection prices in Taiwan and weak market demand in Asia's markets.

The 80:20 container scrap export price was settled at US$360/ton in the last week and the price cut to US$355/ton now.

However, although 80:20 container scrap price has been cut to US$355/tom, the production cost for rebar in Taiwan is still at NT$17,200/ton which is about NT$200~400/ton higher than the current market price.
